Install Wood Floor

My fiance and I are looking to install hardwood floors in my mom and dad's house but we don't know where to start, what we'll need to do it, the cheapest but most efficient way or anything.

Could somebody help us by telling me:
What all we'll need?
A rough estimate of how much it'll cost to install ourself?
Should we nail, staple or glue? Floating is not an option.

Well, i'm not sure. I'm guessing it would be rather expensive. mI'm planning to do the floating floor thing, myself.
